Twilight in America: The Untold Story of Islamic Terrorist Training Camps Inside America. The book, exposing the existence of dozens of terrorist training camps inside America, was the result of years of research by Martin Mawyer. A very brave man indeed. One day, unexpectedly, there was a phone call that would wind up as the centerpiece of the book.
The caller was a young Egyptian man name Ali Aziz. He claimed to be an undercover agent with the NYPD who had lived for eight years with these terrorists in training. Mawyer knew, given the nature of the group that ran these compounds, that it could be a trap.
The group is known as Muslims of the Americas (MOA), and Mawyer and Christian Action Network were already in their crosshairs. MOA is a front group for a known terrorist group called Jamaat Al Fuqra (“community of the impoverished”). They have been convicted of numerous terrorist-related crimes in the United States going back to the 1980s, among them welfare fraud, white-collar crimes, gun running, firebombing, drug crimes, weapons crimes…and murder.
Ali told Mawyer that he knew about his work exposing the camps, and that he wanted to tell his story. Ali wanted to end his eight-year-long double life—as an undercover informant for the NYPD pretending to be an Islamic radical. If the name Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani sounds familiar, it should. He is the person who is most commonly recognized as the man Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl was to meet in Pakistan when he was kidnapped in January 2002, savagely murdered and ultimately beheaded – all in the name of Islam.
Although jailed briefly for suspicion of murder, Gilani was later released. But he has a much longer and equally insidious history with Islamic terrorism, such as his participation at a 1993 meeting of terrorists in Sudan, where he rubbed elbows with none other than Osama bin Laden. In fact, there is sufficient evidence linking Gilani and ul Fuqra to al Qaeda. One of the men who assisted al Fuqra in 1989 was Wadih el-Hage, an al Qaeda member sentenced to life in prison for his role in the 1998 embassy bombings. Further, there is a body of evidence that suggests that “shoe bomber” Richard Reid is a follower of ul Fuqra, and one of the infamous “beltway snipers” may have obtained assistance from one of the jamaats.
As our investigative report outlines, the Hancock, NY headquarters of the terrorist group Jamaat ul Fuqra poses itself as the International Qur’anic Open University and Muslims of the Americas Inc. Gilani and the “Quranic University” is also home to the “Muslim Scouts of America” at Islamberg.
Muslims of the Americas (MOA)
Muslims of the Americas (MOA) was founded in 1980 and is led by Sheikh Sayyid Mubarik Ali Jilani (a/k/a Sheikh Gilani). MOA is a virulently anti-Semitic, Islamic extremist group with direct ties to Al-Fuqra. MOA claims to have offices in six U.S. cities and Toronto and as outlined in our investigative report, maintains secluded residential communities throughout the United States, with its primary headquarters in the state of New York. The group’s Web site and e-mails have featured writings by notorious anti-Semites and Holocaust deniers such as Michael Hoffman and former Klansman David Duke. MOA also run camps for young men – including Muslim Boy Scouts of America. The connections between Jamaat ul fuqra, the Muslims of the Americas, and the Muslim Boy Scouts of America are undeniable.
Despite these obvious connections and controversies, the ties to Sheikh Gilani, and Gilani’s ties to international terrorism, the FBI lavishly praised the work of the questionable Quranic University and even sent FBI Special Agent in Charge, Leslie Wieser, to deliver the 2004 “graduation speech” at the university. Sheikh Gilani, who has called the U.S. the biggest sponsor of terrorism in the world, must have been very proud.
Equally interesting, the website of the Muslim Scouts of America proudly displays a note of appreciation from Special Agent FBI, Phillip Irizarry of Binghamton, New York on the 2005 American Muslim Scouts Summer Program. The note from Agent Phillip Irizarry states:
“Assalamu alykum Hussein,Inshallah indeed. I wonder if agent Irizarry is a Christian… or a Jew. In any event, the MOA website – the sponsor of the Muslim Boy Scouts of America – states that “Jews are an example of human Satans,” and also describes Jews as “sub-humans.” The same website slams Christians, Christianity and America. Yet FBI Special Agent in Charge Leslie Wieser of South Carolina openly praises such “diversity,” and agent Irizarry extends his praises in a similar fashion. Have they failed to read the anti-American, anti-Semetic, anti-Christian proclamations on the MOA web site?

Has the FBI failed to review the notes from the U.S. Department of State pertaining to Giani, Jamaat ul Fuqra, and the various investigations conducted on state levels over the last two decades?
How else would one explain the cozy relationship between this organization and the FBI? Apparently, much of America has forgotten that we are at war. Has the FBI – the agency in charge of defending our homeland forgotten as well?
The insanity of political correctness that has overtaken and is influencing our war against terrorism – ISLAMIC TERRORISM – is imperiling us all. The memory of Daniel Pearl and other victims deserve better. We, as Americans deserve better. And if we don’t stand up and demand better, who will?
Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) went on a Saudi TV station and made the outrageous suggestion that Muslims may have discovered America before Columbus.
"Jihad is the Way,” the Muslim Brotherhood states:
“Jihad for Allah is not limited to the specific region of the Islamic countries,” the Muslims Brotherhood writes. The “banner of Jihad,” they claim, must continue to be raised “until every inch of the land of Islam will be liberated, the State of Islam will be established.” (Mustafa Mashur, leader of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt from 1996-2002)
Though its English is wanting for help, the message of the Muslim Brotherhood, and groups like Muslims of the Americas, is clear:
Any territory formerly held by Muslims belongs to Islam.
And if anyone doubts this is also the message of CAIR, then look at this recent photo which the organization put out for its 2013 Inaugural Benefit in Washington, D.C.
